Plums contain plenty of vitamins, including provitamin A and various B vitamins, C and E, as well as important minerals such as potassium, calcium and iron. They are particularly rich in fibre (pectin and cellulose), which aids digestion, and contain flavonoids and anthocyanins, which are responsible for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. They are also a good source of fruit acids, sorbitol and various carbohydrates.
