The flesh of the ripe Monstera deliciosa fruit has a sweet flavour and is often described as a mixture of pineapple and banana. They can be eaten on their own or in smoothies, fruit salads and mueslis. The skin consists of small hexagonal scales that fall off as soon as they are ripe; the fruit should only be eaten when ripe, otherwise it burns the tongue. In South America, it is even part of traditional medicine and enjoys a very good reputation. A real delicacy that we grow on our finca.
